What makes a successful internship program? One aspect is having community-focused partners like Kearny Bank host a financial literacy class for the interns. When students receive their first paycheck, they already understand key concepts about banking, credit, and saving for the future. The most successful corporate hosts understand that internships are not solely about work outputs. They set the stage for long-term success and stability for the next generation, which often results in improved talent pipelines, increased productivity, and a more satisfying work experience. All Stars Project, Inc. goes to great lengths to prepare our young people for success in the mainstream, and we have the best partners in the biz supporting us.Thanks to Silvia Merino-Topley, Yvonne Louro, CRCM, CRACP, Larry Ford, Veronica Ross, Jackie Gibbs and Kim Dalton for hosting us. And special thank you for our first grant from KEARNYBANK FOUNDATION INC!#internship#FinancialLiteracy

On Tuesday, March 26 our DSY class visited with Verizon, located in Basking Ridge. We had 42 youth in attendance and Verizon had 10 staff volunteers at this workshop, which focused on “Conversations & Resumes”.Youth were provided with a resume writing overview and then broke up into small groups and had conversations with Verizon staff members whoassisted the students in articulating their experiences and transforming that into appropriate resume language.Verizon staff also shared about their lives and experiences to give our students a sense of different career pathways and approaches to being successful in the workplace and in life. Our champion, Alycia Michelle Guichard, Global Corporate Counsel, shared her personal life story which inspired our youth who share similar backgrounds and challenges on their roadmap in life. Thank you to Alycia and the amazing Verizon staff for supporting NJ youth!
